1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!
2019 is really the year of the SWIL!
SWIL started the propoganda machine as a New Year's Resolution…on…you guessed it…January…2018.
The first post that started it all!
THE 2018 New Years Resolution GOAL:
~~ Infect as many in the Multnoma County, Portland—Oregon area as possible with a message of local muzik propoganda! ~~
The challenge, however, is how does one KNOW this? How do your measure the success of this goal?!
It was decided that the industry standard that is Google ANALytics would be used to track the website traffic. Therefore, since day one, Google ANALytics was installed on the website.
Otherwise, how do you really know the reach of your propoganda?
GOAL SUCCESS:
Google ANALytics clearly shows that Portland is the NUMBER 1 location that people log in from to access the SWIL PROPOGANDA MACHINE! Thank you Portland for a great, amazing year…really & seriously…WOW.
We are not just a Portland band anymore?
Seriously…what the hell is going on?
No Seriously…30 phucking countries?! I am not kidding I don't believe it either but that is the one-year summary.

BUT - you got to ask yourself…where is all the website traffic coming from then?
Although I can't give all SWIL's rocket success with the website secrets away - PROPOGANDA MACHINE traffic acquisition that I want local bands to be aware of is broken down like this:
Website traffic resulting from a social media sites - like Fakebook - accounts for 23% of OVERALL traffic. Looking closer at the social-media acquisition breakdown - Fakebook is indeed king at more then half of the social media traffic tracked….@ this time only.
But the eye opener was that social media traffic acquisition is only 23% of overall website traffic data….wow.
Thank you Portland! Thank you Oregon! Thank you China! Thank you Italy! Thank you France!

Another thing we have been tracking the success of online is this:
Although the band name is SWIL - SWIL.com was not available as a domain name:
What is going on here is someone is squatting this website name - someone owns the domain name…but the domain name at this time has no real content.
SWIL is not going to buy this domain name.
Sooooooo - we decided that our online presence will be SWILnation…and the website itself will be SWILnation.com.
A dicey move when your potential fan base has the attention span of an intoxicated 5-year-old. BUT - we were dedicated to the band name SWIL…so we concurrently focused our efforts on Google search optimization for our online presence.
A Google Search for 'SWIL' alone is not very fruitful in providing links relevant to Portland's greatest emotional band…check it out yourself.
However, thankfully, 'SWIL Portland' is not a bad result really:
Very, very good
However, how did we do on our commitment over the past year to the online presence that is 'SWILnation'???
TOTAL, COMPREHENSIVE DOMINATION!
In terms of number crunching and meeting goals…our assessment is goals have been met…TOTAL DOMINATION!
So, in light of this overwhelming success, we decided to use the PROPOGANDA MACHINE platform as a way to promote things we like going on in the Portland Music Scene.
Hence, if your band is featured on the SWIL PROPOGANDA MACHINE - obviously you will get exposure in Portland, but you also might need to start learning another languages like French, German, or even Chinese!
AND THIS NEEDS TO BE SAID: We really enjoy doing this and see it as imperative to building a music scene. It's time to get this emotional rock scene kicked into high gear.
LASTLY:
The other top question is "how did you build that website and secure world domination in such a short time?"
First of all - do some searching for 'webmaster and maximizing Google searches'. You can't force it…but they basically tell you how to make searches strong if you are in it for the long haul and you have the skills…or more importantly the RESOLVE…to do it yourself!
As far as website software and whatnot - we use a very cheap website hosting service that puts a lot of the need to build/update the website on the user. There are many out there - do a Google search and go from there!
SWIL uses software on a local computer machine - updates the draft within that software, revising as needed, and when ready - uploads to the website. There are great website hosting platforms that also offer online editing tools, however we found that approach even to be too expensive.

Low and behold the prophecy is real = 2019 is the year of the PIG!
SWIL (Actually SWILL is spelled with two letter {L's} - but initially we wanted the name to be short like KISS, so we spelled it that way and found out a couple of months later it was spelled wrong…whoops) is often associated with pigs, and it refers to what they eat…which can be a mixture of about anything carbon-based.
HENCE, the prophecy is real…
2019 is the year of the SWIL!

~ SWIL really appreciates the support we have received from other bands, the Portland area…and the world over I guess (weird but true). Here is to 2019 - its going to be a great year…the year of the SWIL…the year emotional rock & roll took things back over. ~
