NEW WEBSITE
Version 3.0 ONLINE!
Thank you for checking out this page. Remnants of the last version of the website, version 2.0, is still accessible to the public as part of our extended, current website. The programming for the old website was so old…not everything warranted replication to the new website.
The SWIL PROPOGANDA MACHINE has moved on to the new website system, with Archives for 2018 and 2019 still available under the umbrella of the older website.
Items that have moved to new website:

Its quite entertaining…actually.
The rest of this webpage is the original content from this link…have a SWIL day………………..
Viva la Propoganda!
WENT OUT TO SUPPORT local music scene Saturday night. Checked out show at Eastside because Trimet makes that relatively easy for me (just cannot close the place…curfew is around 11:30).
First band up - You Know Nothing!
So many emotions!
So little time!
ASS A GUITAR PLAYER MYSELF I would think of these guys as the Drop-D quartet, respectfully. Actually it was pretty cool to be exposed to that approach to guitar again. I tend to gravitate to standard tuning so cool for me to see a different approach. I actually dug many of the grooves…thanks!
Dropping the tunes!

Next band up - Ill Equipped!
Ill Equipped!
This reminds me of me…
AFTER STUDYING SWIL recorded shows I realized I had this same problem….YOU NEED to make eye contact with audience if you goal is engagement therein. I was HORRIBLE at this and the best thing I can say is you NEED to practice this as part whatever your practice regimen is. It is something I still struggle with myself but those that are good at it increase audience engagement significantly. Technically the cat had chops so there you go…not to mention time is on his side.
Also - great recovery from significant technical challenges! Seriously everyone!

IT WAS A GOOD REMINDER: If it can go wrong, you need to be ready for it to go wrong. They made a great recovery from very challenging technical difficulties - and fortunately he was able to borrow a guitar from a player in another band. That was nice of that guy to do that.
SWIL has previously played shows with this bass player in his other project. Good to see him again and good energy! Way to persevere!
LAST band up - Little Urban Achievers!
UNFORTUNATELY I had to go…not my rules blame TRIMET! I hope the set went well! (I also could not find website link…sorry)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Lex and Brenda enjoying some Birthday cake! One of the bands was nice enough to bring the cake. I did test it myself for safety measures…not bad for store-bought sheet cake. Thanks & congrats!
Important Cause! Please support Ben L!
MrSamson drinks cheap beer to sacrifice and contribute!
AFTER A SUCCESSFUL HUSTLE just off of 82nd and Powell prior to the show - I was able to contribute to this worthy cause. Think of it as a rock-&-roll tithing…if you will.
I have reached out candidly to several folks in the scene and the consensus is clear - Ben Linton is a hell of a nice guy. I can personally vouch for this but I am slinging so much propoganda on here I am sure you, the avid SWIL fan, may be impacted by doubt.
There is a GoFundMe site set up for Ben to help with his medical bills. Please help if you can and see for yourself the overwhelming support for Ben.
I will make it easy for you to access Ben's GoFundMe page, just click the link below:
SO I HAD TO MISS THE LAST BAND DUE TO Trimet curfew. I got on the Clackamass south bound train around 11:30ish. I boarded at the 82nd station…which is sketchy as can be the later it gets after the sun goes down. I bought my ticket and walked down to the boarding platform, constantly watching my six and looking out for bad guys…when all of the sudden I hear yelling 'HEY YOU!!' and the sound of footsteps quickly approaching…
I quickly turn around…and it was a Trimet employee wanting to inspect my vest closer. Then he shared that Schlitz beer was his first beer ever! Right on…I snapped a selfie with him, and slung him some propoganda.
Nice to meet you…clearly SWIL material
Oh Yeah
What is on the MAX train floor?
New maid service indirectly causes blindness?
WTH?
"Why do you get the thong-bikini cleaning service?"
"I like the way they sneak up on the dirt and then…pounce! The dirt has no chance!"
"Really?!"
"Yep. Have you ever thought of this as a good idea….maybe not now but maybe when you were younger at Yale law school and…"
"I cannot recall. I have selective amnesia and simply cannot recall."
"Your loss buddy!"
Seriously………
Another show worth supporting brought to you by…
